AdBlue removal and repair in Namibia: lessons from a Scania G410 fleet
For truck owners in Swakopmund and Windhoek, an AdBlue problem can mean another workshop visit, an expensive pump and a vehicle waiting to get back to work. Boostech Namibia has developed extensive practical experience with AdBlue removal on a wide range of truck applications, assessing each vehicle and its control system individually.
Three Scania G410 trucks, repeated AdBlue pump failures
The fleet owner reported that all three trucks had experienced AdBlue pump failures. Two replacement pumps had already cost a combined N$90,000. The third failure meant another potential N$45,000 replacement bill.
On top of those repairs, the reported AdBlue spend was approximately N$35,000 per month across the three trucks. That is a separate consumable expense, not part of the pump replacement cost. AdBlue availability was also a concern for the operator.
What the costs mean for a fleet
- N$90,000: already spent on two pump replacements.
- N$45,000: the additional replacement cost reported for the third pump.
- N$35,000 per month: the fleet’s reported AdBlue consumption cost across three trucks.
At the same monthly usage, that consumable spend would amount to N$420,000 over a year. This is an annualised calculation from the customer’s reported monthly figure, not a measured annual saving or a promise for every fleet.
The Namibia workshop outcome
Our Namibia team worked on two of the fleet’s Scania G410 trucks on 8 September 2026. The AdBlue removal work offered the customer a solution at a fraction of the quoted replacement costs, eliminating the AdBlue consumable expense on the completed trucks. The figures above describe this particular fleet; another truck’s cost, condition and requirements may differ.
AdBlue repair or removal in Namibia: start with the vehicle
Send us the truck model, year, fault messages, diagnostic information if available, and what has already been repaired. We assess the actual problem and discuss the options supported for that vehicle. An AdBlue warning does not by itself establish that a pump needs replacement.
Our work is vehicle-specific. The ECU version, existing faults and operating requirements determine what can be offered and quoted. Tell us where the truck operates, including any cross-border routes.
