The GWM P-Series has established itself as a serious contender in the Southern African bakkie market. Its comfortable interior, capable 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and smooth eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox make it an excellent platform for professional ECU remapping.
Stronger performance where it matters
In standard form, the P-Series can feel hesitant at lower engine speeds, particularly when pulling away, overtaking, towing or carrying additional weight. Our Stage 1 calibration improves torque delivery, throttle response and turbo behaviour, giving the vehicle a more decisive response without making it harsh or difficult to drive smoothly.
- Stronger low-down torque
- Substantially reduced turbo lag
- Improved throttle response and mid-range acceleration
- Easier overtaking, towing and load carrying
- Smoother everyday drivability
More than a peak number. The biggest improvement is how readily the P-Series responds and how confidently it carries its torque through everyday driving.
Working with the eight-speed ZF gearbox
One of the strengths of the GWM P-Series is its eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. With the correct engine and automatic gearbox calibration, the additional torque works with the transmission instead of fighting against it.
Gear changes remain fast and smooth while the vehicle responds more confidently when acceleration is requested. Improved torque delivery can also reduce unnecessary hunting between gears when towing, carrying a load or driving on inclines. The result is a more coordinated powertrain—not merely a larger peak figure.
Calibrated for the individual vehicle
A Boostech remap is selected and prepared for the exact vehicle, ECU software, gearbox, existing hardware and intended use. Existing boost leaks, turbo problems, injector faults, warning lights or gearbox issues should be resolved before additional performance is requested.
Our priority is strong, clean and predictable performance within sensible operating limits. Actual results may differ slightly according to model year, ECU version, fuel quality, vehicle condition and installed hardware.
